EVALUATION

Feedback from first evaluator: Suzanne

The website overall made a good impression and has achieved some of the goals set during the planning phase. Firstly, it was easy to navigate with the use of a menu bar to guide consumers to find our content and factual information. Every page has a clear purpose and grabs the reader’s attention with images and videos – in the reports page, this allowed for a more comfortable read as reader’s could take a break from the text and learn visually from the images. Lastly, the design of the website was clean and consistent throughout, providing a good balance of text, white space and images so to not overwhelm the reader.

Suggested areas in need of improvement include the title – “Highlighting Technology”. This was noted to be too simple and broad. The developer team will be considering new website names that capture the viewer’s attention. Additionally, the home page was fairly empty and without purpose. We will incorporate more images and text that clearly show the purpose of our website and simultaneously grab and hold the reader’s attention.

Feedback from second evaluator: Timothy

The website had a very good impression and achieved the majority of the goals that was set during planning phase. Firstly, the home page was compelling enough but only because the person was involved within the industry so it was engaging enough for him, however for others that are not as involved they may find it a bit boring and bland. Secondly, the navigation between the websites was very easy and attainable so there was no problems finding all information that is on the site. Thirdly, the websites cleanliness and formatting made it very clear and was able to convey the information quite well as it was basic and straight to the point.

Areas that need improving however would be the lack of images to engage the viewer. While there were images related to the website, there weren’t enough of them. The development team is thinking of adding more to avoid overwhelming the reader with big chunks of text. Furthermore, the title was too broad to grab viewer’s attention. Since this issue has been addressed twice, the development team has made plans to change it.
